In the LGBTQ community, lesbians come 1, gays 2, bisexuals 3, transgenders 4 and queer 5. A lesbian can be a girl or woman who has an emotional, romantic and physical inclination toward another woman. From Bollywood to Hollywood many films have been made on lesbians in which a woman is shown loving another woman. In Indian society, lesbians have not got the recognition they get in other countries, here they have to face social pressure hatred and discrimination. 1-Fire 1996

Fire is a film directed by Deepa Mehta based on Ismat Chughtai story Lihaaf.The film stars Javed Jaffrey, Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das. Making a film on this subject in 1996 demonstrates the visionary nature of Hindi film directors. In the film, Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das fall in love and embracing this love decide to break free from all the social constraints and live together. While it’s a comedy thriller the finale reveals a mystery that leaves viewers stunned. The uncle-nephew duo, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, are conmen. Naseeruddin Shah falls in love with Madhuri Dixit, while Arshad Warsi falls in love with Huma Qureshi. Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah are unaware that they have been conned by Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi. Ultimately, it’s revealed that Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi are in love. 3-Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, 2019

This romantic comedy tells the story of Sweety (Sonam Kapoor) who is a lesbian but hides it due to fear of society. Sweety falls in love with a girl. Her family wants to get her married. Sweety meets Sahil (Rajkummar Rao), who falls in love with her, but Sweety tells Sahil that she is a lesbian and in love with another girl. After many twists and turns, Sweety’s family agrees to her lesbian relationship, and the film has a happy ending.
